Having a place of your own can be a lot. You have to keep it clean, you have to think about all your meals, and of course, the rent or mortgage is all on your shoulders. If that weren't enough, there is security to think about too. Living on your own can make you feel a little unsafe, and that is certainly what one woman who lives by herself is now feeling after a creepy incident. She found a strange message outside of her home and it's caused her to lose all sense of security.
Her name is Jade and she took to TikTok to share her story. In a video, she explained how she took her garbage out after a recent snowfall and on her trashcan, she noticed someone had written "1F" in the snow. Since she was confused by the odd message, she asked her followers if they had any insight into its meaning.
The video is no longer on TikTok, but the Daily Mail has one from her.
Jade was terrified by the responses since many of them warned her to be very careful. One commenter revealed, "It means one female. They are telling the people who are supposed to rob you or whatever that you live alone." Another stated, "Means you're being watched! Be careful." A Canadian chimed in, "Here in Ontario, Canada, it means single female. It could be used for many different reasons but NONE of the reasons are something good." Someone else bluntly wrote, "You're a target babe."
Jade shared in the comments that the responses had "started to scare her," so people began giving her suggestions about what to do. One person jokingly recommended, "Put snow on that and write 2M," but plenty of others urged Jade to call the police. She heeded that advice but wasn't happy with the authorities' response. They told her to just wipe the snow off the trashcan, stay with someone else and to be careful. She wound up staying with her mom.
Even with all the commenters explaining what "1F" means, it is more likely just a prank. According to Snopes, there are no actual reports of human traffickers or other bad guys using "1F" as a secret code, but that doesn't mean it isn't disturbing to find it written outside of your home. Thankfully, it doesn't seem like anything else happened at Jade's place.
