Trevor Noah had a lot of people laughing after he made a hilarious joke about Nicki Minaj's newfound friendship with President Donald Trump.
On Sunday night, February 1, the comedian welcomed the stars to the 68th annual Grammy Awards inside the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. During his opening monologue, Noah pointed out out all the celebrities nearby him and noticed that Minaj wasn't in attendance. That's when he joked about what she could be doing instead of being at the awards show.
"Nicki Minaj is not here," he said as audience members cheered.
"She is still at the White House with Donald Trump discussing very important issues," he continued before impersonating the controversial president. "Actually, Nicki, I have the biggest ass. I have it. Everybody's saying it, Nicki, I know they say it's you but it's me. Wop, wop, wop look at it baby."
The joke was inspired by Minaj's recent appearance at the Treasury Department's summit to promote the newly established “Trump Accounts.” The "Everybody" rapper spoke at the summit and called herself "the president’s No. 1 fan.”
“And that’s not going to change,” she said at the event. “And the hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more, and it’s going to motivate all of us to support him more.”
